Relationship and Development Trend of Tourism Destination Literature

Abstract


This paper aims to examine the evolution of the intellectual structure to provide future researchers fast systematic and key reading method. This study used a key word search approach, bibliometric and social network analysis. The analysis revealed that even though the tourist destination are considered complex networks, it is dispersed in the form of some core groups such as destination image, tourist experience and stakeholder involvement, customer relationship management and using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The status of tourism destination has its own platform of communication to support its own knowledge generation and dissemination and capable of making this an independent research field. The most frequently cited articles are almost all collaborative works rather than individual ones. This study suggests that future researchers use three kinds of centrality to examine the best controller and their relationships.
