Job Demand-Control, Trait Anxiety, Anger Expression, Depression and Subjective Happiness in Doctors and Managers

Abstract


The main aim of the present research work was to study the Job demand control, trait anxiety, anger expression [Anger In (Ax/In), Anger Out (Ax/out), Anger Control, (Ax/con)], depression and subjective happiness in doctors and managers. The sample size for this study was 65 Doctors and Managers. The mean ± SD age of these doctors was 39.38 years and 4.88 respectively and of manager were 40.07 years and 4.97 respectively. For this purpose Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ) [55], T-Anxiety Scale of State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) [13] T-Anger Scale of the Hindi version of State-Trait Anger expression Inventory [12,68], Hindi Version of Beck’s Depression Inventory (BDI), [56] and Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS) [66] was used. The result indicated that out of eight discriminating variables only six variables formed the

disriminant equation at the final step. It was concluded that the six discriminant variables that significantly discriminated the two groups were: Job Demand, Job Control, and Subjective happiness, Trait-Anxiety, Anger Control (Ax/Con) and Depression.
